West of the Moon, third and last in the Sun, Moon, and Stars trilogy, is set for release July 26, 2009. Set five years after A Crown of Stars, West of the Moon follows Zhanil Sephides and his lover, the Turya warrior Kalmeki, west into the Turya-lands after a coup drives Zhanil from the throne of Rhodeen. Meanwhile, Zhanil's father Sephil, captured by the usurpers, faces his own ordeal, and finds that help will come from an unlikely source. Note: My new, self-proclaimed hypocritical editor urges me to tell you that this is a superb story. Read an excerpt from West of the Moon here. |

Those hoping to read West of the Moon should be familiar with My Sun and Stars and A Crown of Stars, the two previous books in the Sun, Moon, and Stars trilogy. My Sun and Stars follows the unlikely love story between Sephil, younger prince of Rhodeen and black sheep of the royal family, and his bodyguard, Adeja ked Shamuz, against a sprawling backdrop of war and intrigue that sets the stage for the next two books. A Crown of Stars picks up the story eighteen years later as Sephil's eighteen-year old son Zhanil sparks a diplomatic incident with the fierce Turyar, who now rule his father's homeland of Rhodeen. Zhanil finds love with a Turya warrior, Kalmeki, as the stage is set for political intrigue and conflict across three different kingdoms. Both My Sun and Stars and A Crown of Stars are in print. (Note: the pictured cover for My Sun and Stars is the print version.) |

I completed this watercolor image of a Water-lover of Sirilon swimming in a kelp forest last month. Astute viewers will note the Lady's triple water rune on the figure's arm. |
